Apart from the red part if Liverpool and of course the masses of loyal supporters from London and Home Counties.

A bloke I work with, a real Man United fan from Manchester even said to me the other day that he would rather City win the league again than Liverpool. When I asked him why his reply was "we would never, never, ever hear the end of it if Liverpool did".

The problem is I can see us rolling over and getting stuffed. I hope I am wrong.

Re: The whole of the country is behind us tomorrow.
The Man United supporters I work with would rather Liverpool than Man City win the title.

Their argument is that they don't like the way that Man City (and Chelsea before them) bought success through wealthy owners, rather than a more 'natural' approach to buying the title.

It is a bit laughable.
They have £90m Pogba. Plus £90m Lukaku who was on the bench with £60m Martial & £38m Mata.
A couple of centre halves who cost over £30m and they are paying Sanchez about £300k or £400k a week.

Every trophy Man City win is one that doesn’t go to Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and Man U. That’s a major result for me.

Re: The whole of the country is behind us tomorrow.
Man City & Chelsea took a shortcut and closed a gap where Liverpool & Manchester United basically raped any other club of their talent for absolute decades so their football snobbery won't face the fact they've never won a genuine title either based on a level playing field of talent and how you come about producing that talent. Even their youth teams were bought.

Differing ways of securing them success, but both unfair and the last club to win a genuine title was Leicester, before that who knows.

Re: The whole of the country is behind us tomorrow.
The difference between a heavy pasting or an unlikely draw comes down to one singe decision?

That is to play Cresswell over Masuaku.

If Masuaku starts that means Ogbonna automatically turns to shit! plus Masuaku is already shit!

Ogbonna has a better game with Cresswell next to him plus Cresswell has defended better of late.

Comes down to this

Spot on mate.

I am guessing before Leicester it was probably the United team with Scholes, Beckham Giggs etc or the invincibles Arsenal team? Both these sides had a nucleus of players that had come through the ranks.

Now "big clubs" really means "rich clubs" and they mop up all the trophies. Problem is the game is now a "product" and the amount spent marketing it means it will sell to the fans of other teams who are largely happy just to be "part of it" or "making up the numbers". :-(

Spurs are (as much as it pains me to say) the only team that have got into the top 4 by "in part" developing players but even they spent a lot on players for at least 5 - 10 years which got then nearer to the top and attracted other better , young players which finally got them into that top 4. They also have a chairman ( again hate to say it ) that is a much better business man that 2 blokes who made their money in the dildo industry.

We need to buy younger players for a start and work tirelessly on our youth development but even that is tough as the Chelseas and City' youth academies sweep up a lot of the young talent and loan them out. The good thing though is at youth level, many players develop later on so you have a better chance of getting a nugget or two that is let go or passed over by the big spenders ( e.g. Rice).

I don't mind about City getting success they always had big gates at home a big away following before the investment was made

Chelsea on the other hand they were a small club that bought their success but I don't envy them at all because now a Champions league quarter final isn't enough for their supporters be careful what you wish for

They have a chairman who was so jealous of us owning a potentially bigger stadium, that he lodged a complaint against us buying the stadium we had planned to move into, so the tax players fund a big chunk of it instead.
And where would your insults be aimed if we had handled moving into a new stadium the way they have?

Any chance that all the people behind us can stand in our goal? It’s the only hope we have.

Re: The whole of the country is behind us tomorrow.
The whole country being behind us is the upside of the very big downside that we aren't likely to win the Premier League.

If only the country was hoping that Liverpool would derail our triumphant march to the trophy....
